The HaDiKo is the largest self-administrated student residence in Germany. Between 103 and 265 students live in each of the six buildings that lie close to the city center but also next to the forest. On each floor live between 13 and 16 students in single rooms. In addition to showers and toilets on each floor there is also a washing basin in every room. The big kitchen also serves as a living room where everyone comes together.

Furthermore there are a music room, bicycle workshop, electronics lab, photographic lab, pool table, foosball, wood workshop, a bar in each building a fast internet connection. All the services are administered by the inhabitants. On two of the buildings there is a rooftop terrace, that can be used for barbecueing or sun bathing just like the big lawn.
